The Tools Pane in Adobe Acrobat Reader opens automatically whenever you open a pdf document, something that can be really annoying.
It can be closed using the shortcut Shift+F4.

It can also be permanently disabled like this:
Navigate to the Adobe Acrobat Reader installation folder, usually something like this;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU

Create a new sub folder, e.g. named DisabledItems
Move these files into the new sub folder:

  • AppCenter_R.aapp
  • Home.aapp
  • Viewer.aapp
When you now open a pdf file the Tools Pane will no longer be displayed.
